Nike Plus Blister

WARNING!!!! The contents of this blog may not be suitable for children under the age of 13!!!

K so as I wrote on a previous blog, I have recently been running using the new Nike Plus. Well, I also got a new pair of Nikes that come specially made for the nike plus equipment to go underneath the sole insert. And I love my new shoes. But I didn't realize that attached to these new shoes was a warning!

The first day I got my new shoes I decided to break them in by running about 4 miles. Yeah, not such a good idea. By the end of my run my right foot began to burn where my instep is. Upon arriving at home, I took off my shoes and socks and realized that there was a nice blister beginning to take shape. So I but some stuff on it and preceeded to run another 4 miles the next day. Yeah, you would think I had learned my lesson about breaking these great shoes in easily! Because another blister began to form on top of the one from the first day and now I have one huge blister on my foot!

So I began to do a little research. I had gotten blisters on my heels before but I have never received blisters on my instep before. So I thought, well maybe I run really wierd because it was only forming on my right foot. And then I came across others who had gotten blisters from their new Nike plus shoes too! And man I am so glad I didn't decided to run 26 miles thats first day or else my foot would be looking more like this!!! Yikes!!!

B..B..Benny and the Jets!

Oh my gosh! I saw a really cute movie tonight. (And since I am usually behind in going to the theaters and seeing a movie, I'm sure most of you have already seen it!) Well it's called 27 Dresses with Katherine Heigl and James Marsden. And I'm not going to sit here and tell you all about it but there is one part where Katherine and James' characters sing the song Benny and the Jets (well try to but they mess up the lines so bad!) and it is positively hilarious! If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you need to go see the movie right now. I have never laughed so hard in a movie!

Nike +, My new favorite toy!

So I am not big on New Years resolutions, the main reason being that my goal for the year is always the same, loose weight. And it never seems to happen. My biggest problem is that I get so bored when I workout. But...I found a solution to this problem! It's called Nike Plus! And I love it!

My Nike + keeps track of how fast you run, how many miles, and even lets you sync to the internet where it keeps track of your runs and goals. Oh and the best thing, I can download workouts where its like having a running coach with you and some pretty good music that goes with your workout.

I have been running nonstop since I got my shoes on Wednesday. Now I just need someone else who has the nike + so that we can compete and challenge one another! So let me know if you are interested! But hey, I'll understand if you can't take the heat!!

Ah....Vacation, at last!

I can't tell you how absolutely wonderful it feels to know that I have 3 glorious weeks of vacation! Now you all know I love my job but it can sure get tiring teaching 25 little 6/7 year olds. Therefore, I LOVE track breaks!!!!! I don't think I can stress that enough so let me say it again... I LOVE TRACK BREAK!!!

Now I have big plans for this break. They include: sleep, sleep, sleep, oh and did I mention...more sleep! I would love to go on some big, exotic vacation but there is always one big problem with track breaks, no one else seems to be on vacation at the same time. And what fun would a cruise or trip to New York be by yourself?

So I am giving you all plenty of warning right now, my next track break is at the end of April, and then again in June/July so if you all want to take a trip or get away somewhere....call me!!

Looking into my crystal ball....

Yes I know it is a Friday night and I should be out doing...something but I know you all couldn't wait for a new blog! So here I am writing for the three people that actually read this! Well, at lunch today some of the other teachers and I were talking about horoscopes, fortune tellers, the future, things like that and I've never been one to actually follow my horoscope but I thought I might look it up tonight and see what lies ahead in my future. (Hey I need all the help I can get)

Now only which one to choose...do I follow my birth sign, my Chinese sign, my numerology, or hey there is always tarot readings!! Heck why not tr them all... like I said, I need the help!

Aries- Alright lets see what lies in my future....Apparently my day tomorrow will be a calm one. I wonder if this will occur before or after I try to gather and make everything for Linger Longer on Sunday since my co-chair is of no help in that area. boring, boring, boring oh here we go, I see that I need to take a short trip to catch up with friends far away. Hum wonder where that could be???

Aries love scope-oh yippee, I will get anything I set my eyes upon. Hum, If it only worked that easy! boring, boring, more boring stuff.....lets see, something about scattering my seeds but it must be done in a practical way....what does gardening have to do with love??? Am I so helpless in the love area that they have to mix in seeds? Hum. Not too promising in this area... but then again I already knew that! :)

Pig- According to the Chinese calendar I deserve to enjoy some comforts this weekend. So I must indulge in my favorite foods, people, and activities. But yet I must conserve my money.... whats a girl to do....save her money or indulge in her favorites??? I guess this won't be too hard 'cause sadly all my favorite people are not here with me! :( Maybe a new pair of shoes will make me feel better???

4- So as a number 4 it looks like this month I will be placed in situations where I will have the opportunity to actually teach the things that I have spent so much time working on...hum could they be right? Maybe I should quit my day job and become a teacher??? After I do this, I must realize that I have a lot to offer people on an intellectual level, well that part I already knew :)

K last but not least, lets see what the cards see for the future.....I got the Justice card, The Star, and The Empress. I guess with these cards, it looks like my destiny is on the right track. The empress is trying to keep the path nice and smooth. However, I feel as if it's been a little bumpy lately. The star is giving me the optimism I need to make me feel like I'm on top of things, even though I might not be. The justice card is keeping me in the right frame of mind. Therefore, I must adopt the right attitude for overcoming all forms of adversity and pressure. Hum, I don't know if I am keeping the right attitude or frame of mind at this point in my life but maybe I should start???

Well, overall my future looks.....pretty boring! Except for the whole seeds thing, that could be pretty interesting! I'm looking forward to that. I'll have to keep you all posted on how that goes when it happens!

These boots are made for walking....

Yippee! I am so excited! I have been looking for a pair of boots that actually fit for a very long time! And I am happy to say that I found some! And I love them!

They are brown suede with a small heel. And yes they actually fit over my calfs! I know, can you believe that! Who knew someone would actually make a boot that fits over my huge calves! :) LOL I'll have to post some pics of me actually wearing them! I can't wait!

Cute, Cute Family

Do you want to see three of the cutest kids ever?? Well look no farther! I have two of the world's most adorable nieces and a handsome little nephew.

Here is Sarah. Call me crazy but I think she'll be a techer someday! LOL
She is quite the smarty pants these days! I'm very proud of her! She even got high honor roll and she's only in the 2nd grade! Doesn't she look like she could be in the fourth grade already??

Here's my Randi! She is my silly girl! She absolutely loved her new pink boots! I have to say, for a six year old she is quite stylish! Much more than me! Maybe I should start taking style tips from her! I do wish that I could go back to this age, where all these new trends look so cute. Sometimes I don't think a 24 year old would look so cute in pink fluffy boots or long shirts with leggings! But Miranda can sure pull it off!

Mr. Hayden comes next. I can't believe how big he is getting! He is only 9 months and I know he will be taking his first steps any day now! He loved his new truck that Grandma and Grandpa got him. He wouldn't have anything to do with sitting on it but he sure did love to push it around! He looks like the spitting image of Donny when he was little and he has the matching personality as well!

I sure do miss these kids! And I can't wait for the other two to come soon! Sorry if this made anyone jealous but hey, I warned you...aren't they cute?

Puzzles, Puzzles, Puzzles

So over the Christmas break my family had kind of a wierd obsession...we were doing puzzles like crazy! It all started with the stupid 1000 piece Jelly Belly puzzle that our Uncle Jerry sent. Sad to say that I am actually the one who opened it up and got us all going on this sad, sad craze! It took us about 4 days to complete the dang puzzle! (Needless to say we each had our different opinions on how to solve puzzles!)

But yes we finally finished the Jelly Belly puzzle. And what do you think we did after that??? Yes we began yet another one! Except this time it was only 550 pieces but sadly Britt and I finished it in 3 hours! Yes I know we can be pretty pathetic sometimes! And then what do my parents go and do....start yet another 1000 piece one! This time it was of the New York Hard Rock Cafe.

The funny thing about puzzles is that anytime someone sees one they can't help but try to find atleast one piece that fits together. Then you want to find another one. Then another and another and before you know it you too are sucked into finishing the dang puzzle. So a word to the wise....NEVER BEGIN A PUZZLE!!!
